Once again the community of Holme Grange School welcomed Rabbi Zvi of the Jewish Community of Berkshire (JCoB). leading our morning assembly, Rabbi Zvi explained about the joyful holiday of Sukkot, the erecting of the sukkah hut and he told us the story of the magic gourd.


Harvest Fast Day

“We plant the seeds that one day will grow.” – The Romero Prayer As part of our Harvest thanks today, some staff and pupils (from Year 5 onwards) volunteered to forgo their usual well-fed lunch in favour of soup and bread. The cost of their lunch is being donated to Cafod’s Harvest Fast Day.

HG Harvest Donation Appeal

Our harvest donations will benefit people who go to the Wokingham Foodbank and The Link Visiting Scheme. We are holding our annual Harvest Services on Thursday 5th October for the Eaton Grange pupils at 8:35am and on Friday 6th October for the Prep and Pre-Prep pupils at 9:00am. Harvest Donations 2016

This year’s Harvest is scheduled for the first full week of October. Harvest is a significant time in the church calendar for giving thanks for the food that is produced across the United Kingdom and when we show our social awareness and care for people in our community who need support.
