After some wet weather at the end of last week, the charity skydive for The Link Visiting Scheme eventually went ahead on Sunday morning. Taking a leap of faith, Mrs Robinson plunged from 10 000ft with a whoop of joy.

Friendship Production

The Year 5 & 6 children proudly presented their production of ‘Mystery at Magpie Manor’ to our friends from the Link Visiting Scheme. After the musical, our guests were entertained with a lovely Friendship tea in the Caudwell Hall.

Over the last two years, the community of Holme Grange School has forged strong links with the elderly folk of The Link Visiting Scheme in Wokingham. An upcoming venture involving three HG staff is a charity skydive as part of LVS’s Friendship Week.

Ava’s Big Knit 2016

Ava’s Big Knit 2016 has exceeded expectations with over 120 hats from friends, family and also the Holme Grange community. Ava was very pleased with the response from everyone, and would like to thank you for the support and effort that you put in to helping her collect so many hats.

OLN Scholarship update

There are 238 candidates who work extra hard in the hope of a scholarship from Holme Grange School. The students who are part of the high school scholarship spend a week at OLN following a mentorship programme in the first week of the school holidays. During this time, different teachers/speakers/counsellors are invited to talk with the candidates on different issues that are affecting our youth today. This mentorship week also creates a good opportunity for the students to come together and share their experiences that vary according to the different schools they come from.

Thankyou for your hampers!

dsc00932Sam and Amelia would like to sincerely thank those families in the Holme Grange community who have supported their Christmas initiative in favour of customers at the Wokingham Foodbank.

They have received a generous pile of Christmas treats that will certainly enliven the festivities of a number of families in the Wokingham borough. We made the delivery straight after our Christmas lunch, with some rather dexterous driving by Dean who had to negotiate some very tight cornners.

Wrapped up against the morning winter chill, in some very merry Christmas jumpers, the children of Holme Grange School are raising money for the Save the Children charity. Basically, Save the Children saves children’s lives.
