Outreach – being the difference

The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it; for God has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers. – Psalm 24:1-2

The Junior Harvest Services was celebrated by Fr Richard from St Paul’s, for the children in the Prep and Pre-Prep. Harvest donations have been provided by the community of Holme Grange School.

God our Father, bless Holme Grange School. Fill the hearts of the staff and children with goodness and bless our parents and families. Bless all who come to our school. May every person who comes in be the better for it. Bless our harvest gifts. May they be a true sign of our generosity and concern for others. Bless all of us here today.

We give thanks for the harvest. We thank you, Lord our God, that the sowing and the reaping have all been done. For those who work in the fields, on farms and in factories, making the food we eat: we thank you, Lord.

This harvest season, our donations will benefit the Wokingham Foodbank and the elderly of The Link Visiting Scheme, both being worthy charities right here in Wokingham that work hard to lift up and support the community.

“You care for the land and water it;
    you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
    to provide the people with grain,
    for so you have ordained it.
You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
    you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
You crown the year with your bounty,
    and your carts overflow with abundance.
The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
    the hills are clothed with gladness.
The meadows are covered with flocks
    and the valleys are mantled with grain;
    they shout for joy and sing.”

Psalm 65: 9-13
